Sorry so Long!

Yes, story of my life with a Blog——get right out there at first, then “life” happens and it takes a back seat. So sorry, again!

Hope your new year has started out well. I’ve been able to get a few sewing projects in, but much of my last month has been helping my OK daughter with my granddaughter. Her husband had a brain hemorrhage and so he has been in the hospital for several weeks. Needless to say life has been a bit topsy turvey for awhile and will be that way for awhile to come.

I’ve worked on some custom garments for a lady in GA. She’s had fun picking out fabrics and patterns and I’ve stitched them up for her. It’s been nice for me having her put together things that I had not necessarily thought of combining. Most recent is sending her Creations by Michie pattern and the view that is the “Play Dress”. Michie Playdress

The play dress is stitched up in Pima Tattersall, the white/blue combination. Around the “armholes” is baby pink pique piping and then one of my eyelet Swiss edgings has been gathered and stitched also. Easy pattern to construct. Has 4 buttons from the waistband to the neckline in the back. There are matching “panties” but those were not desired in this custom order. This view also can have a smocked inset added, or she might be going to have someone add a machine monogram in the center front. Really a fun and comfortable garment for the young child to wear.

Glad this one came my way this past week, we had been experiencing 70 degree days! So it was nice to “think about summer” for a bit.

Here is Michie’s pattern, so you can see the other options available to you. Multi-sized, too. Very versatile!
